We spent time in Tarifa, and Bolonia Spain in early May. What a beautiful spot this beach at Bolonia, I would love to go back in September when it might be warmer.
Taking In The View
Here is Caroline taking in the view of the coast line. We were sitting perched on top of the mountains looking down.
Looking further up the mountains...we drove up the windy road to get a higher up view.
There was a cave in the rocky peak.
A nice view from above of the gorgeous and wild beach at Bolonia. Very free from development. I would love to back here before returning home to Canada.
Of the beach at Bolonia.
The view from walking along the boardwalk.
We walked up into the forest to get a closer look at the giant dunes.
A big pile of soft sand, the lovely dunes at the West end of the beach.
Top Of The Dunes
Here we are breaking in at the top of the dunes.
Walking In The Forest
Approaching the dunes...
West End of Bolonia Beach
We walked along the beachfront on the boardwalk to the West end and then up into forest.
Walking along the boardwalk.
Nice White Caps
You can also see how wild the beach is...beautiful.
Fishing boats along the beach.
Another view as we approach the dunes.
This must have been an interesting place in the past, Roman ruins looking straight out to the ocean. Quite a theater.
Moutains To The West
We later drove up to the top for the view.
Another view of the dunes with a pale blue sky behind.
Of the beach, and dunes.
I imagine a popular spot for windsurfing and kite surfing during the summer. We were there in early May, the water was likely too cold.
