We checked out the site of the Delphic oracle for a couple days, and then it was time to bus it to our next destination. The beautiful island of Lefkada. The hotel folks just shook their heads. Why? Because it is complicated. Buses are probably the best way to get around, but it isn’t exactly smooth sailing.
After a brief 2o minute bus ride down the valley to the water to Itea, we launched into a 1.5 hour wait right away until another bus picked us up. In the meantime, an insane cat fight sparked up right in front of the bus station between a young mother with 3 young children, and some teenager. It was intense, sadly babies crying, hair pulling, and lots of yelling and spitting.
After that erruption, we got on out next bus for a couple hours, and we ended up at a bridge with no real instructions for how to get to our final destination Lefkada. But apparently a bus would be in the area at 18:45PM. Could be on the Antirrio side, could be on the Rio side. We waited here for 3 hours.
Looked over here for a while…
Eventually, the bus did roll in just after 7PM where we were located in these parts above (North East side of the bridge). Just before sunset.
So, we flagged the bus down, and hopped on for another 3 hours to Lefkada where we were picked up by the owners of our new abode.
It was dark when we arrived, so it was a delight to wake up to our new office/villa (including private pool) in paradise located on the South tip of the Island. Here, we are surrounded by beautiful mountains, with gorgeous beaches just 15 minutes away on the West coast.
