Space activity has always captivated me. Stars, shooting stars, meteors, comets, Mars, eclipses…and Supermoon 2013 in Lake Como!
After a nice relaxing time in Lucca, we moved on to Lake Como to escape city life a while longer. We got a place high up on a mountainside that offered a spectacular view of mountains all around, and of course the lake below.
I remember the last supermoon, which appeared in 2011. I saw it in New York City with Caroline appear suddenly in between skyscrapers. This year’s supermoon caught me off guard.
I didn’t know that the supermoon was on this year, until after I took these pictures.
We were busy working away and the moon popped up over the mountains across the way. This supermoon appeared quite large since it appeared over a sharp and relatively close green tree horizon. It was a pale blue sky, the sun was setting and it shone a nice orange colour across to the moon.
Here is a closeup shot.
